Here in Suffolk, we have created an exquisite collection of lodges that are perfect for pet-friendly staycations, short breaks and weekends away, especially during the Easter and Christmas periods.
All of our luxury self-catering lodgesfeature open plan living spaces and kitchens, cosy en suite bedrooms and private verandas with outdoor bathtubs. There are one- and bedroom lodges to choose from, and all of them are dog-ready.
The Farmstead is easily accessible, just a 30-minute drive from Ipswich and approximately two hours from London by car.
Why The Farmstead is great for dogs
Whether you are planning a family staycation or a romantic mini-break for two, we know it can be difficult to find fantastic accommodation in the UK that is dog-friendly, so we are proud to be able to welcome dogs through our gates, and we can’t wait to meet your four-legged friends.
There will be doggie treats waiting for them in our welcome hampers (alongside the wine, bread and other good stuff for you to enjoy!). We know from experience that dogs love curling up in front of our lodges’ log burners, exploring The Farmstead site and getting out to discover the magical Suffolk countryside that’s all around us.
Things to do with dogs in Suffolk
Suffolk is a perfect place for dogs with so many beaches, woodlands and open spaces to visit. Rendlesham Forest, a 20-minute drive from The Farmstead, is an ideal spot for dog walks, while Sutton Hoo and Framlingham Castle are historic sites that permit entry to dogs as long as they are kept on leads. Easton Farm Park is another of the dog-friendly attractions in the area that also welcomes dogs on leads.
Pretty towns, such as Aldeburgh, Felixstowe and Orford, dotted along the Heritage Coast are well-worth visiting with your dog. Seasonal restrictions generally apply to their beaches, however, so do check whether dogs are allowed access at the time of your visit.
There are also many dog-friendly cafes and pubs in the locality. The White Horse, in the village of Easton, is a lovely countryside pub, serving delicious, locally-sourced food and a great selection of ales and wine – and it will always give a warm welcome to you and your dog. It’s just a mile from The Farmstead and is accessible via a wildflower path that’s marked on the Walking Map that you’ll find in your welcome pack.
(Dog) House rules
Well behaved pets are allowed in all of our accommodation at a surcharge of £25 for up to two dogs, provided that they do not go in the bedrooms or on any of the furniture. All fouling must be removed and placed in the nearest dustbin. There is a maximum of two dogs per property. Go here to read our terms and conditions regarding pets at The Farmstead.
